I have always found where people come from absolutely fascinating possibly from watching the popular TV series ‘Who Do You Think You Are‘ and probably being a little bit nosey too!
Using Ancestry we created our family tree and was able to find census records, birth, marriage and death certificates and a few other stories in the press along the way. At some point I plan to do the DNA test that Ancestry offers to see what else I can find out as I would love to see how far back I can take my blood line.
MY FAMILY TREE
When we got married in 2013, my wife and I decided to put our surnames together to create a new surname ‘Steptoe-Thompson’. Leading up to our big day we researched 5 generations back to show how our family came together to create our new surname and displayed it at the wedding so guests could see.
My family tree was designed by Karen Clarke at Pink Creative.
