Maison La Minervetta In Sorrento, Italy

We were staying in Sorrento to suprise my dad for his 65th birthday who was on holiday to celebrate his birthday and reaching retirement.

We managed to secure the fabulous Maison La Minnervetta for 1 night as this was the only availability during our stay in Sorrento.

ROOM

The Miason La Minervetta has a strong art deco nautical theme running through the hotel and this continues in the rooms.

The room is not the biggest but that’s not why you staying at the hotel. Your staying for the amazing view of Sorrento and first class service.

As there are not many people staying in this hotel, the rooms were always lovely and quiet. I literally sat for hours watching the world go by looking out to sea.

The bed was super comfy and we had a fantastic night’s sleep.

FOOD & DRINK

The ladies make your breakfast to order every morning and provide waitress service where anything can be asked for and they will try their hardest to please.

The pastries and coffee are to die for with a amazing view out to sea! It was a fantastic way to start the day.

Would of been amazing if the hotel offered food in the evening but your only a short walk away from the many Italian restaurants in Sorrento town.

POOL

Would have been nice to have a slightly bigger pool. It is more a cooling off pool than a swimming pool. The views are out of this world though.

We were the only ones by the pool so it felt like we had our own private pool looking out to sea.

TRAVEL

We flew from Stansted to Naples with Ryanair (why don’t nice airlines do these short trips?!) and then took a private car transfer from Naples to Sorrento.

The transfer was actually a tour of the Amalfi Coast with Touring Italy. It just so happend the tour started in Naples and finished in Sorrento, which was really handy.

WEATHER

The weather wasn’t the greatest but we always knew going in September was going to be hit and miss. It wasn’t cold by any means but it wasn’t the hot Italian sun we were hoping for. I would imagine the hotel would look stunning in the summer months.

CONCLUSION

The Maison La Minervetta hotel is possibly the best hotel I have ever had the pleasure of visiting. The rooms have incredible views of Sorrento, perfect for watching the sunset over the Almalfi Coast and first class service. The photos just don’t do it justice.

THINGS TO CONSIDER

  • It is a 10 minute walk to the main Sorrento town but I think this is a good thing as your away from the hustle of the town.
  • When you go for breakfast in the morning it’s not particulary clear what to do. Go and see the girls where the pastries are to order your breakfast and coffee.
  • The hotel is kind of hidden. You can easily walk past it if your looking for a traditional entrance. There is a lift in the car park that takes you down to reception.

BOOKING

We booked Maison La Minervetta hotel via Mr and Mrs Smith. Your need to book early as it is always booked up in advance.
